The basis of using a pad is the idea of moving the RFID sticker away from the metal surface, which increases the reading range between the sticker and the metal, and thus practically places a layer that prevents the absorption of RF waves by the metal.
There are three types of RFID Spacers:
Foam
PVC
Ferrite
The success ratio of the spacer is given by the ratio FERRIT: PVC: FOAM = 6: 2: 1, which practically means that a 1mm thick ferrite spacer will give the same improvement as a 3mm thick PVC and a 6mm thick foam spacer.
Depending on the metal on which the RFID tag is placed as well as the frequency used, the appropriate pad should be selected, and we suggest that you contact us for a consultation and advice on which type of pad to choose.
