RFID cards

With the rapid development of global information technology, there is an increasing use of cards. They are most often made of PCV, PET and ABS materials, with a gradual increase in the use of paper cards. The dimensions of the cards are 85.5x55mm while their thickness varies depending on the type of card.
Card types:
Contact cards – Bank payment cards, ID cards, health insurance cards;
Contactless RFID cards – Public transport cards, identification for access control;
Plastic cards – most often used as various membership, VIP and loyalty cards with a barcode or magnetic stripe.

We are witnessing the growing use of plastic cards, which are widely used in all spheres. Most often, we use them in the form of membership and loyalty cards. The loyalty card as a tool that companies use for sales and marketing purposes is not an additional burden but a way to increase the company’s profits. With these cards, companies strive to attract new and retain existing customers by providing the cardholder with certain benefits that other customers otherwise don’t have.
Most of these cards come with a barcode or magnetic stripe depending on the system and equipment companies use. They can be in standard 85.5x54mm and non-standard dimensions.
Printing technology enables a wide range of possible designs. Cards can be standard glossy or matte, and can be transparent, with UV effect, brushed gold and silver effect, mirror effect, engraved, scratch scratch, with hologram mark, sensors for measuring body temperature, water temperature or UV radiation, mini 3in1 cards, etc.

Contact cards contain a visible chip on their surface. In order to be read, they must be inserted into the smart card reader, where the physical contact of the chip with the reader transfers data.
The dimensions of the cards are 85.5x54mm according to the ISO standard, and the thickness of the cards is between 0.80-0.84mm.
The most commonly used contact card chips are:

Contactless cards are based on RFID technology. These cards can be read from a certain distance, so no physical contact with the reader is required to read these cards.
The dimensions of the cards are 85.5x54mm and 0.76mm thick.

Due to the increasing use of smart cards, and in order to avoid the replacement of old systems, the need to use Dual Cards is increasing.
Dual cards can be found in combinations of smart chip, magnetic stripe and contactless LF, HF or UHF frequency chips.
